Avon Datacom was formed in April, 1988, as a means to become a VAR/Distributor of premise wiring and networking products for data and voice communications. These products include everything from the basic cable and connectors, to the more exotic items such as electronic cabinetry, intelligent wiring hubs and fiber optics for data, voice and security networks.
Avon Datacom personnel are capable of working with clients on overall systems integration designs for point-to-point and network systems and day-to-day requirements for expanding information wiring plants. The Company's long-term customers rely on Avon Datacom to help them understand the myriad of options that are available to enable them to get their data-connectivity jobs done with state-of-the-art solutions.
In 1998 Avon Datacom was purchased by WESCO Distribution, a company servicing the electrical and MRO industries. In 2005 Avon Datacom was bought back from WESCO distribution by its founder, Marc Zaintz, and key employees.
Avon Datacom remains as the premier distributor in the New York metro area for products needed for the installation and maintenance of voice, data , video and security systems. With increased bandwidth and services needed by today’s “intelligent” buildings the role of Avon Datacom and its manufacturer partners has become critical for many companies in the process of choosing and supplying the right products for their critical applications and services. |
